29ER     FULL SUSPENSION     HARD TAIL
NINE TEAM
Steamroll rocks, carve turns and fly up climbs faster than you ever thought possible with the incredible ride quality of the Felt Nine. Engineered with premium-grade UHC Ultimate + Nano carbon fiber, this frameset is pure performance. It blends the speed and stability of larger 29-inch-wheels with the quick handling of a lightweight XC hardtail. An 80mm RockShox Sid RLT fork, race-ready SRAM XO components—including a 2x10 crankset—and WTB Stryker TCS 29 wheels round out this dream setup.

DAKAR XCR29 PRO
That XCR stands for cross-country race, and that’s not something we say lightly. When it comes to connecting the dots from the starting gate to the finishing chute, there’s simply nothing faster than our new Dakar XCR 29ers. Our all new fully-active, stable-under-power mp4 XC suspension design is optimized for cross-country performance, with travel narrowed down to a tautly sprung, hyper-efficient 100mm that delivers a slight rising leverage rate in the first 40% of travel and then is linear though the next 60mm of travel for a firm, responsive pedaling platform that keeps that rear tire firmly planted for pedaling efficiency and grip whether you’re forging ahead on a climb, or stretching your lead on a descent.

DAKOTA D29 TEAM
We’re big believers in 29ers for racing, thanks to their roll-over-everything, trail-taming momentum. Last year’s Dakota D29 bikes were incredible machines, a smart application of cutting-edge carbon technology with big hoops. And we upped the ante for 2012. We broke the molds for our big-wheel Team and Pro again (!), retooling to modify our BB30 shells to take advantage of the benefits of the PressFit 30 BB system – simple installation, improved bearing-to-shell interface, greater bearing durability and the pedaling power of that 30mm spindle. Our tapered head tube significantly stiffens the control center, and that pays dividends with 29-inch rolling stock, letting you muscle out of ruts and really improving all-around control authority.

HEI HEI 29 SUPREME
Designed for those looking to rain serious trail fire on everything from the BC Bike Race to the TransAlp, the Hei Hei 29 Supreme is the culmination of everything fast and awesome in a 100mm-travel, 29-inch-wheel race bike. Featuring the incredible lightweight, strong and smooth riding characteristics of new Kona Scandium 6069 Butted tubing, with suspension performance and geometry designed specifically to find that perfect balance between great climbing and technical riding, the Hei Hei 29 Supreme features top-drawer components selected to knock off podiums like sitting ducks. This is one of the sweetest, fastest, most glorious mountain bikes we've ever made.

DAKOTA D29 PRO

One of the sweetest-riding, big-wheeled hardtail mountain bikes in creation. At least that's what we think our Hawaiian shaman friends are saying.

Light, functional components that balance performance and durability only add to your confidence and desire to go quicker, longer and stronger. In short, you need a sweet-riding 7005 aluminum, 29-inch-wheel speedster designed to go fast and last. With a host of refinements, the 2012 Kahuna Deluxe is all you.

NINE COMP
With a double-butted Superlite aluminum frame designed to optimize the trail-riding advantages of the larger 29-inch wheels, the Nine Comp flows through the rough stuff and devours the climbs. And thanks to the lightweight hydroformed tubing, its stability is balanced with a quick-handling, lively feel. It’s the best of both worlds.

EXILE RACE
Exile has been a huge hit for us these past few years, as more riders discovered the benefits of 29-inch wheels, and the dialed-in feel of our tweaked-and-tuned geometry. This year’s Exiles are going to completely blow it up thanks to a fully over-hauled and re-designed frame with tapered head tube, box-shaped/S-bend down tube, and ribbed top tube with integrated seat mast beam to support the extra long 400mm seat posts every Exile is equipped with. The Race gets a pumped up parts pick with a 10-speed Shimano SLX drivetrain, Hollowtech II triple crankset and Rock Shox Recon Silver fork, making this a great trail bike that’s fully capable of racing too.

DRAGON 29 SPORT
The Jamis Dragon is one of our most storied, revered chassis. Always steel, with its incredibly resilient ride. Always fast, with our superbly tuned geometry that maximizes traction and handling. This is the rig that built our reputation in mountain biking’s early years. And it’s a legend that’s still going strong. Reynolds 520 pipes get the call for Dragon 29 Sport, which gives that same legendary Reynolds ride quality, taking trail harshness out of your backside while saving some cash for your wallet. Outfitted with Manitou’s Tower air sprung forks offering TPC Absolute Plus damping for maximum pedaling efficiency and Reverse Arch lowers for optimal torsional stiffness-to-weight and enhanced steering precision.

KAHUNA
"Priest, sorcerer, magician, wizard, minister, expert in any profession." That's how the Hawaiians define "Kahuna." Our Kahuna is the same-master of all. Made of high-grade 7005 Aluminum Butted tubing, the Kahuna comes with a lifetime warranty on the frame and a blend of smooth functioning components. This fantastic 29-inch-wheel hardtail mountain bike is designed specifically for those looking to add a dash of speed to their wilderness wanderings.

EXILE COMP
Exile has been a huge hit for us these past few years, as more riders discovered the benefits of 29-inch wheels, and the dialed-in feel of our tweaked-and-tuned geometry. This year’s Exiles are going to completely blow it up thanks to a fully over-hauled and re-designed frame with tapered head tube, box-shaped/S-bend down tube, and ribbed top tube with integrated seat mast beam to support the extra long 400mm seat posts every Exile is equipped with. The components spec for Comp follows the Race’s lead with a full SRAM drivetrain and Hayes disc brakes with 180mm front rotors, while dropping the price tag a bit so we can let more people have a taste of true 29-inch performance.

Karate Monkey
29" wheels, as you may know, deliver greater traction than 26" wheels; they smooth out terrain more effectively, hold inertia well, and in general they fit taller riders better than 26" wheeled bikes. When it was introduced, the Karate Monkey was one of the first (the first?) production 29’ers. Not only did the Monkey put the 29" platform in front of a lot of people, it did so at a price within reach of many a bike nerd. Back then there were only about three tire options! Since then 29-inch has become a full-blown category, with entire bike companies dedicated to the platform. Even now, however, the Karate Monkey continues to amaze people even though it’s nearly the same as when it was introduced: our own custom 4130 CroMoly steel tubing make the frame and fork, butted where it matters to provide a durable yet resilient ride. The seat tube is curved forward, allowing the rear wheel to tuck under, shortening the wheelbase and increasing rear wheel traction. The crank height provides plenty of ground clearance. The rear “dropouts” are horizontal rear-load style, but with a derailleur hanger. Hmmm, tricky. We offer the complete bike version of the Karate Monkey as a singlespeed but you could turn it into a geared bike if you wanted. Or monster cross it. Fixed-gear off-road it. The Karate Monkey sticks to trail like peanut butter to a dog’s mouth. It rides great. That’s not just us talking, that’s what we hear from customers. You’ll see. We have made some changes though. With the introduction of our Ogre frameset and complete bike, the Karate Monkey is no longer the only 29-inch wheeled model in our stable, so we took the opportunity to refine it a bit. First, we took off the cantilever studs. Yep, Karate Monkey is now disc brake only. And the fork, still suspension corrected for 80mm travel, has been redesigned to be more resilient and forgiving. The Karate Monkey retains threaded barrel mounts on its stays. You can run a rear rack, but if what you really want is an expedition-type 29’er we advise the Ogre. Ogre shares the KM geometry but is designed to run fenders, discs and racks at the same time. If you want a lighter and faster 29’er that can do other stuff from time to time, the Karate Monkey is the way to go. There’s a reason the Karate Monkey is still around: Because it rips.

NINE SPORT
With a double-butted 6061 aluminum frame designed to optimize the trail-riding advantages of the larger 29-inch wheels, the Nine Sport flows through technical terrain and devours steep climbs. Its stability is matched by a quick and lively feel. Add in a 100mm suspension fork, Shimano drivetrain and powerful disc brakes, and Nine Sport is ready for any adventure.

MAHUNA
Designed specifically to be an excellent-value, entry-level mountain bike, the Mahuna ("green beans" in Croatian) is a 29-inch-wheel hardtail perfect for those with a curiosity for jumping on the big-wheel bandwagon. Built using Kona's sweet-riding 29er geometry and 7005 Aluminum Butted tubing, the Mahuna is all about keeping things simple and fun, with components selected to keep the Long Sweet Ride going for years.

EXILE SPORT
Exile has been a huge hit for us these past few years, as more riders discovered the benefits of 29-inch wheels, and the dialed-in feel of our tweaked-and-tuned geometry. This year’s Exiles are going to completely blow it up thanks to a fully over-hauled and re-designed frame with tapered head tube, box-shaped/S-bend down tube, and ribbed top tube with integrated seat mast beam to support the extra long 400mm seat posts every Exile is equipped with. The component spec for Sport follows the Race’s lead with a full Shimano drivetrain and Hayes disc brakes with 180mm front rotors, while dropping the price tag a bit so we can let more people have a taste of true 29-inch performance.

NINE TRAIL
With a double-butted 6061 aluminum frame designed to optimize the trail-riding advantages of the larger 29-inch wheels, the Nine Trail flows through technical terrain and devours steep climbs. Its stability is matched by a quick and lively feel. Add in an SR Suntour suspension fork, Shimano drivetrain and powerful disc brakes, and Nine Trail is ready for any adventure.

SPLICE
One shouldn't be afraid of mutations, at least beautiful ones. When we take the speed, acceleration and diversity of our 29er hardtail geometry and "Splice" it with the efficiencies of our commuter expertise, we arrive at an evolutionary creation bestowed with grace, finesse and a dash of, dare we say, toughness. With the same geometry as our legendary Kahuna, but with an 80mm fork and components designed to spin everything from backroads to backcountry, the Splice is best described as a cross between a Kahuna and a Dew. Designed for those who like to balance a real smooth ride with real good value.
